Canopy Fitouts is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative and creative Mid-Senior Commercial Interior Designer or Interior Architect to support the Design and Projects Teams across commercial fitout projects. The role balances aesthetics, functionality and sustainable design principles, translating client needs and brand identity into high-quality design outcomes from concept through delivery.
This role is being recruited by Clarke Point(www.clarkepoint.com), a premier Singapore-based agency dedicated to delivering global recruitment and staffing solutions, and is for a long-term, full-time Independent Contractor.
Develop creative commercial interior design concepts aligned with client briefs, brand identity and project requirements
Create and optimise space plans that consider functionality, traffic flow, accessibility, safety and user experience
Apply workplace strategy principles to improve productivity, collaboration, wellbeing and organisational outcomes
Prepare detailed design documentation including mood boards, colour palettes, materials, finishes, furnishings and specifications
Develop construction documentation that clearly communicates design intent to project teams, contractors and suppliers
Coordinate closely with the Design Manager and project team when reviewing drawings, resolving design queries and progressing documentation
Research and specify appropriate materials, furnishings, finishes and products that align with design intent, budget and programme
Identify and manage design scope changes while maintaining clear documentation and stakeholder communication
Coordinate multiple projects and priorities while maintaining design quality, accuracy and delivery deadlines
Experience working as an Independent Contractor for an Australian client
Relevant qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related discipline
3-5 years' professional experience in a similar commercial interior design or interior architecture role
Demonstrated experience delivering commercial office fitout projects from concept through documentation and delivery
Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience using Revit for design development and documentation
Sound knowledge of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards applicable to commercial interiors
Proven ability to develop detailed client briefs, interpret project requirements and manage scope changes
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
Previous experience working within an architecture firm or architectural practice, particularly in a documentation-focused environment
Experience creating Revit parametric families
Experience with AI integration and AI-based workflows
Rendering and visualisation experience producing high-quality architectural or interior renders
Strong MS365 capability for professional documentation, reports, presentations and client-facing materials
Experience across retail, hospitality, medical or other commercial fitout environments
Knowledge of sustainable materials, products and design practices

Canopy Fitouts is based in Melbourne, Australia, and the role will work Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Melbourne time, with some flexibility.
