Job summary

Discovery Capital Finance Corp. is seeking a legal professional to prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and collection-related documents, and to attend hearings. You will handle negotiations and support the Collections Department to meet targets.

You will monitor case status, maintain trackers, and ensure compliance with BP 22, Small Claims, and the Data Privacy Act while coordinating with the team to secure favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant legal or collections experience.
• Knowledgeable in BP 22, Small Claims, and Collection of Sum of Money.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and other collection-related matters.
• Attend court hearings, conferences, and proceedings as needed.
• Negotiate with borrowers/clients to achieve targets for collections.
• Draft and file affidavits and complaints for BP 22 and collection cases, including Small Claims Court proceedings.
• Review dishonored post-dated checks and supporting documents to assess legal viability.
• Draft and issue Notices of Dishonor and Demand Letters to support legal actions.
• Monitor progress of all legal cases and update case calendars.
• Maintain a master tracker of active cases, demand letters, hearings, and payment arrangements.
• Coordinate legal assistance to Collections Department for delinquent accounts.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and SEC/Data Privacy Act.
