Job summary

SYSGEN RPO is seeking a Senior CloudOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure supporting ERP solutions for government and school districts. You will automate deployments, enhance security, and drive DevOps best practices across teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead CI/CD initiatives, and collaborate on new ERP hosting projects, leveraging IaC and modern cloud tooling to ensure reliable, scalable services.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in cloud-focused DevOps/CloudOps/SE roles, preferably AWS.
• 2+ years experience reviewing and mentoring juniors.
• 2+ years in CI/CD environments and automation pipelines.
• 2+ years Linux administration experience.
• 2+ years configuring Linux/Windows with Ansible, Run Deck, Chef or Puppet.
• 2+ years in designing or maintaining highly available and secure cloud systems.
• 2+ years migrating/managing AWS workloads.
• 2+ years OO language development (C#/.NET preferred).
• 2+ years scripting with Bash or Python.
• Expertise with core AWS services: EC2, VPC, ELB, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch, S3.
• 2+ years with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Hands-on with CI/CD platforms such as Harness, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• 2+ years using real-time monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MSSQL is a plus.
• AWS Certification is preferred but not required.

• Collaborate & Innovate – Work with top engineers to drive improvements in cloud operations and software dev.
• Review and Mentor – Provide guidance to junior CloudOps team members.
• Lead DevOps Best Practices – Advocate for and implement best practices across products and teams.
• Collaborate on New Projects – Provide insights on design and implementation of new initiatives.
• Engage in Project Planning – Participate in project design to align with best practices and business goals.
• Advise Management – Offer technical guidance to leadership for better outcomes.
• Implement CI/CD Pipelines – Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines with product teams.
• Enhance ERP Hosting Platform – Leverage IaC, CM, and event-driven infra for secure deployments.
• Develop Automation Tools – Create tools to improve deployment and monitoring at scale.
• Drive DevOps Transformation – Architect solutions supporting DevOps and Agile transformation.
• On-Call Support – Participate in periodic on-call duties to maintain stability.
• Collaborate Across Teams – Work with internal/external teams for efficient solutions.
• Foster a Learning Culture – Share knowledge for professional growth.
• Provide Constructive Feedback – Give feedback to leadership to improve strategies.
• Stay Informed – Stay updated on DevOps best practices.
