About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and support secure, scalable cloud solutions across public, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. The role focuses on cloud modernization, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and the practical adoption of Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
The ideal candidate has strong cloud engineering fundamentals and proven experience building reusable, tested automation and IaC patterns that other engineering teams can reliably adopt. Beyond familiarity with cloud technologies, the successful candidate must demonstrate personal ownership of technical implementations, explain engineering decisions and trade-offs, and adapt solutions as requirements evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and support enterprise cloud infrastructure and solutions.
- Develop reusable IaC modules, automation scripts, and standardized cloud deployment patterns to improve consistency, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement and support containerized applications and orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
- Support cloud migration, modernization, infrastructure provisioning, and resource optimization initiatives.
- Apply software engineering and automation principles to improve cloud operations, deployment processes, and infrastructure management.
- Explore and integrate practical GenAI/LLM capabilities and AI-powered workflows into cloud engineering and automation use cases.
- Monitor cloud performance, availability, capacity, security, and resource utilization; investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise cloud governance, security, and operational standards.
- Document implementation details, technical decisions, testing approaches, troubleshooting steps, and reusable engineering patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable cloud solutions.
- Adapt implementations based on changing requirements, technical constraints, and operational feedback.
- Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotations as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, and/or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on cloud computing experience in an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience implementing cloud infrastructure, automation solutions, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS, preferably in enterprise-scale environments.
- Experience building, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation scripts, IaC modules, or reusable infrastructure patterns.
- Strong software engineering mindset, with the ability to apply programming, scripting, version control, and testing practices to cloud engineering.
- Experience implementing and improving enterprise-level IT processes using frameworks such as ITIL, CMMI, or Six Sigma.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and adaptability when handling complex technical requirements.
Technical Skills and Tools
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Alibaba Cloud, or other major cloud hyperscalers.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or equivalent IaC tools.
- Containers and Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, OpenShift, and related container technologies.
- Automation and Engineering Practices: Reusable modules and templates, automated deployments, version control, testing, troubleshooting, and infrastructure standardization.
- Cloud Operations and Security: Monitoring, identity and access management, cloud governance, security controls, compliance, and resource optimization.
- GenAI and LLM Integration: Practical exposure to AI-assisted engineering, LLM integration, or AI-powered automation workflows.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking an engineer who can demonstrate what they have personally built and implemented, rather than simply describe cloud technologies or tools.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical fundamentals with a practical engineering mindset, clear communication, and the ability to turn individual cloud implementations into reliable, reusable solutions that other teams can confidently consume.
