Job summary

MicroSourcing is hiring a CDI Manager to lead the day-to-day CDI operations, ensuring accurate and compliant clinical documentation that supports quality patient care and revenue integrity. You will supervise a CDI team, set priorities, and drive process improvements across Billing, AR, and IT functions.

The role requires 3+ years in inpatient CDI management, BSN, and active licensure with CCDS/CDIP/CCS. Hybrid work arrangements in the Philippines with competitive rewards are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years inpatient CDI management or operational leadership experience.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care clinical experience in a hospital setting (ICU or Medical‑Surgical).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Active PRC Registered Nurse license or active USRN license.
• Current professional certification such as CCDS, CDIP, or CCS.
• Strong knowledge of RCM, ICD‑10‑CM/PCS coding, MS‑DRG methodology, and risk adjustment.
• Experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (CEFR B2).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily CDI operations, assign priorities, monitor team performance, and ensure goals are achieved.
• Review and resolve documentation and coding denials with Billing, AR, and Revenue Cycle teams to drive improvements.
• Ensure CDI policies and coding guidelines stay compliant with current regulatory requirements.
• Monitor KPIs and present updates and improvement initiatives to leadership.
• Collaborate with HIM, Revenue Integrity, Coding, Billing and IT to support accurate documentation and clean claims.
• Lead coaching and professional development for CDI supervisors and specialists.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to obtain timely documentation clarification.

Your Role:

As a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the CDI team, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely clinical documentation that supports quality patient care, coding accuracy, and revenue cycle performance.

Specifically, you will:

• Oversee daily CDI operations, assign priorities, monitor team performance, and ensure operational goals are achieved.
• Review and resolve documentation and coding-related denials by collaborating with Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Revenue Cycle teams to identify root causes and implement process improvements.
• Ensure CDI policies, coding guidelines, and documentation standards remain compliant with current regulatory and industry requirements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and present operational updates, team performance, and improvement initiatives to leadership.
• Collaborate with Health Information Management (HIM), Revenue Integrity, Coding, Billing, and IT teams to support accurate documentation, clean claims, and system optimization.
• Lead coaching, mentoring, and professional development initiatives for CDI supervisors, trainers, and specialists while supporting succession planning.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to obtain timely documentation clarification that accurately reflects patient care.

What You Need:

Non-negotiables

• At least 3 years of inpatient CDI management or operational leadership experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care clinical experience in a hospital setting, preferably in ICU or Medical‑Surgical units.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Active Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Registered Nurse (PHRN) license or active USRN license.
• Current professional certification such as CCDS, CDIP, or CCS.
• Strong knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), ICD‑10‑CM/PCS coding, MS‑DRG methodology, and risk adjustment.
• Experience using hospital electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (minimum CEFR B2 level).

Preferred skills/expertise

• Master's degree or advanced professional qualification in healthcare, business, or a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of CDI and coding technologies, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams, driving operational improvements, and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, matrixed healthcare environment.
