Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the Civil Team in delivering high-impact transportation and land development designs. You will guide engineers and drafters, uphold QA/QC, and coordinate with clients and specialists to ensure safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.

Applicants should have a Civil Engineering license and 10+ years of experience in roads, highways, and related infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Licensed Civil Engineer with 10+ years of experience in civil design for roads, highways, terminals, drainage, and civil structures within transportation and land development projects.
• Strong knowledge of local and international design codes and standards.
• Hands-on expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; familiarity with STAAD.Pro, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define civil design philosophies, update discipline specifications, and serve as the core technical expert for engineers and drafters.
• Oversee QA/QC to ensure safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
• Establish workload schedules, track progress, and implement corrective measures for timely delivery.
• Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineers for professional development and team cohesion.
• Lead interdisciplinary design reviews and liaise with clients and external specialists.
• Identify scope changes, issue design notices, and conduct site inspections at milestones.
• Conduct site visits to support design development and project delivery.

Context

The Civil Team Lead will lead the Civil Team in delivering high-impact design solutions for complex transportation and land development infrastructure projects. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery oversight, team development, and client engagement, with opportunities to collaborate across local and international teams. It is well suited for a proactive and experienced civil engineering professional who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and is passionate about mentoring teams and delivering excellent project outcomes.

Missions/Main Duties

• Define civil design philosophies, update discipline specifications, and serve as the core technical subject matter expert for engineers and drafters.
• Oversee strict implementation of QA/QC protocols to ensure all civil deliverables meet safety, functionality, and regulatory code requirements
• Establish workload schedules, track project progress, monitor performance indicators, and implement corrective measures to ensure timely delivery.
• Lead, guide, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers to support continuous professional development and strong team cohesion.
• Lead interdisciplinary design reviews and liaise directly with clients and external specialists to gather design inputs and align deliverables.
• IIdentify scope adjustments, issue design trend/change notices, and conduct site inspections as required by project milestones.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as required to support design development and project delivery.

Profile/Skills

• Licensed Civil Engineer with at least 10+ years of experience in civil design for roads, highways, terminals, drainage systems, and civil structures within transportation and land development projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant local and international civil design codes and standards, such as AASHTO, ASTM, and DPWH-DGCS.
• Hands-on expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; familiarity with structural, hydrological, or geospatial software (STAAD.Pro, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, QGIS) is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience leading or supervising a small team of design engineers in a multidisciplinary environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing civil projects through the complete lifecycle, from conceptual vision to detailed design.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills for client interfacing and technical reporting.
