Job summary

SYSTRA, a leading engineering consultancy, seeks a Team Lead for Track Design and Alignment to oversee a small team and manage track alignment on large design-build projects. You will model alignments using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools, review clearances, and coordinate with engineers and draftsmen to deliver plans across all design stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Registered professional civil engineer with at least five years of related experience in vertical structure design, preferably railway stations.
• Strong analytical and planning abilities; self-driven and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Review tender track alignment for optimizations.
• Produce track alignment models in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software.
• Review structure gauge and track clearance along the project.
• Prepare alignment drawings across design stages with drafting team.
• Participate in technical meetings with Client’s representative on track issues.
• Prepare final plans and reports for approval.
• Provide quality control reviews for track alignment segments.

Context

The Team Lead, Track Design and Alignment leads a relatively small team that has to work with limited supervision. The position is responsible for overseeing track alignment / viaduct alignment and construction plan production on large design-build transportation alignments.

Missions/Main Duties

• Review project tender track alignment and look for optimizations;
• Produce track alignment models on AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other available software;
• Review Structure gauge and track clearance all along the project;
• Produce, together with a team of draftsmen, alignment drawings in all design stages, all along the project life;
• Participate to technical meetings with Client’s representative on all issues related to track alignment;
• Prepare or oversee the preparation of final plans and reports and submit them for approval;
• Provide quality control reviews for other track alignment segments within the project corridor;
• Coordinate work with other engineers, professionals and the building, within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff; and
• May assist the track engineering in duties related to trackwork design, interface and coordination.

Profile/Skills

• AutoCAD Civil 3D /MicroStatoin / Geopak / BIM;
• Excellent command of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
• Fluent in both spoken and written English
• Self-driven, dynamic having strong analytical skills and attention to detail; and
• Having strong sense of initiative and ability to plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; and
• Registered professional with at least five (5) years of related experience in the design of vertical structures, preferably railway stations
