Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions seeks a Civil Engineering Manager to lead the Civil Engineering department in Manila, Philippines. You will coordinate and review designs for PV plants and high-voltage substations, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, and safety-compliant structures.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil Engineering.
• A Master's degree or specialization in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Project Management is an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in civil engineering design, preferably in industrial, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with utility-scale PV projects and/or high-voltage substations is highly valued.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and structural calculation software such as CYPE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro.
• Knowledge of applicable construction and safety regulations including Eurocodes and local seismic regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Civil Engineering department at company level.
• Coordinate, perform and review engineering designs for PV plants and HV substations.
• Review structural and geotechnical calculations for foundations and structures.
• Prepare technical specifications for materials and equipment; manage subcontractor selection.
• Coordinate construction drawings, reports, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Ensure civil designs integrate with electrical and electromechanical layouts.
• Evaluate civil works contractors' offers and supervise on-site works.
• Manage interfaces with civil contractors, QA labs, and other stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues and non-conformities during construction.
• Review material testing and quality-control procedures, including concrete, steel and soil compaction tests.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and geotechnical/topographical/hydrological studies.
• Assist in obtaining construction permits and licenses.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Coordinate the Civil Engineering department at company level.
• Coordinate, perform and/or review basic and detailed engineering designs for PV plants and high-voltage substations, including:
• Earthworks, grading, platforms and slopes.
• Surface and underground drainage systems.
• Foundations for electrical equipment.
• Control buildings, relay rooms, warehouses and other auxiliary buildings.
• Cable trenches and ducting systems for power and control cables.
• Internal and perimeter access roads and pavements.
• Retaining walls, perimeter fencing and physical security systems.
• Oil containment systems for transformers.
• Coordinate, perform and/or review the structural and geotechnical calculations required for foundations and structural systems.
• Coordinate, perform and/or review detailed technical specifications for materials and equipment, as well as subcontractor selection and civil works execution.
• Coordinate, perform and/or review construction drawings, calculation reports, quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Ensure the proper integration of civil designs with electrical equipment requirements and electromechanical layouts.
• Participate in the technical evaluation of civil works contractors' offers.
• Supervise civil works on site, ensuring compliance with designs, technical specifications, schedules, quality and safety standards.
• Manage the technical interface with civil contractors, quality-control laboratories and other stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues and non-conformities arising during the construction phase.
• Review and approve material testing and quality-control procedures, including concrete, steel and soil compaction tests.
• Collaborate on feasibility studies and geotechnical, topographical and hydrological studies.
• Participate in the preparation of the technical documentation required to obtain construction permits and licenses.

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in Civil Engineering.
• A Master's degree or specialization in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Project Management will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in civil engineering design, preferably in industrial, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Specific experience in utility‑scale photovoltaic projects and/or high‑voltage electrical substations will be highly valued.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, as well as structural calculation software such as CYPE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro or similar.
• Knowledge of applicable construction and safety regulations, ensuring that all civil designs and works comply with relevant technical standards, including CTE, Eurocodes, local seismic regulations and industry best practices.
• Experience managing international projects.
