Job summary

The World Food Programme Philippines Office is seeking an Engineer (SSA-9) to lead civil engineering initiatives, oversee site construction, and ensure alignment with WFP standards. The role requires regular site presence, coordination with partners, and delivery of projects from design through to handover.

Responsibilities include design review, project planning, contractor supervision, quality assurance, and safety compliance, with a focus on refurbishment of facilities and school kitchen

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional accreditation (PE/CEng) desirable.
• Experience in planning, design, and supervision of civil works and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed site assessments and prepare back-to-office reports.
• Develop project plans, schedules and work methodologies.
• Oversee on-site implementation per designs and standards.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and consultants.
• Perform daily supervision ensuring safety and quality.
• Review contractor designs and shop drawings for compliance.
• Monitor materials testing and site testing procedures.
• Maintain detailed site records and progress reports.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and attend progress meetings.
• Support commissioning and handover and take-over documentation.
