Job summary

United Nations World Food Programme in Manila seeks an Engineer to lead site-based delivery of infrastructure projects, supervise contractors and ensure adherence to designs, budgets and schedules.

The role requires strong civil engineering background, 3+ years in construction or infrastructure, and excellent coordination with partners and authorities. The position is 11 months, SSA contract, based in Manila.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in engineering or related field is required.
• Experience in design, construction supervision, and QA of civil works.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site construction and ensure adherence to designs and specs.
• Review contractor designs, shop drawings and method statements for compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, partners, and government counterparts throughout delivery.
• Maintain site records, progress reports and test documentation.
• Support commissioning, handover, and training of local user groups.
