Job summary

World Food Programme Philippines is seeking an Engineer (SSA-9) in Manila to strengthen infrastructure initiatives and support programme delivery. The role requires regular site presence, expert engineering guidance, and coordination with contractors and government counterparts.

The incumbent will ensure adherence to WFP standards, manage project plans, supervise field works, review designs, and maintain quality assurance throughout the 11-month SSA assignment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• PE/CEng or equivalent is highly desirable.
• A Bachelor’s degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Develop project plans, schedules and work methodologies.
• Supervise on-site construction per designs, specs and safety plans.
• Review contractor designs, shop drawings and test results for compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and prepare progress documentation.
