Job summary

Prudential Life UK is seeking a Head of Technology Strategy & Planning to shape PLUK's enterprise technology delivery direction and align IT with business priorities. This leader oversees strategic planning, governance, budgets, and roadmaps, with a small team including an embedded UI/UX designer.

Reporting to the CITO, the role drives strategy development and executive oversight across platforms. The senior leader produces executive presentations, runs KPI dashboards, and leads modernization

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of IT strategy and digital transformation experience.
• Experience managing partner-led delivery engagements and value realization.
• Strong presentation skills for executive audiences.
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles, design systems, user journey mapping, and usability evaluation.
• Leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving.
• IT budgeting, CAPEX/OPEX management, and financial governance.
• Portfolio management, KPI development, and performance scorecarding.
• Certifications in TOGAF/ITIL/PMP/COBIT are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLUK’s enterprise technology strategy roadmap up to 3 years.
• Lead quarterly performance and business reviews (QPBR) for the CITO.
• Create executive-level presentations for ExCo, Board committees, regulators and Townhalls.
• Lead end-to-end planning, definition, and tracking of Technology KPIs and reporting frameworks.
• Oversee annual IT budgeting cycles including CAPEX/OPEX forecasting.
• Drive portfolio governance, prioritization models, and technology risk assessments.
• Ensure adherence to regional technology and compliance standards.
• Lead modernization initiatives including partnerships and digital transformation.
• Oversee partner-driven technology initiatives with measurable business value.
• Manage UI/UX governance through the UI/UX Designer and ensure design systems.
• Oversee design reviews and align customer experience with product and IT teams.
• Manage and nurture a team (2+).
• Work with strategic pillars to create a centralized org strategy.
• Build cross-functional routines and communication channels across business and technology.
