Job summary

JFE-Engineering Corporation-Philippine Branch is seeking a site engineer to oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is executed according to approved plans and specifications.

You will develop detailed work schedules, manage resources, monitor costs, review engineering drawings, and provide technical guidance to the site team and subcontractors while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and mentoring site engineering/technical staff.
• Ability to coordinate with subcontractors and ensure standards and deadlines.
• Strong liaison with clients, architects, project managers, and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed work schedules, monitor progress, and take corrective actions to meet milestones.
• Manage and allocate labor, materials and equipment to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Monitor costs and expenses, and identify opportunities for savings while maintaining quality.
• Review and interpret designs, blueprints, survey reports and technical docs to guide construction.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site team and subcontractors, resolving issues promptly.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with standards.
• Approve drawings, change orders and engineering plans as necessary.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental policies to ensure a safe workplace.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and standards.
• Conduct safety audits, identify hazards and implement preventive measures.

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and support to the Site Team, subcontractors, and workers, resolving technical issues promptly
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements
• Approve technical drawings, change orders, and engineering plans as necessary
• Enforce strict health, safety and environmental policies to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations and industry standards
• Conduct safety audits, identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures to minimize risks

About you

• Lead, train and mentor the site engineering and technical staff
• Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure their work meets required standards and deadlines
• Liaise effectively with clients, architects, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, site diaries and other documentation to key stakeholders
