Job Description
Involves managing on-site construction, ensuring projects meet specs, budget, and deadlines by supervising crews, reviewing plans, liaising with stakeholders (clients, contractors), solving technical issues, and maintaining strict health, safety, and quality standards, requiring a Civil Engineering degree, problem‑solving skills, and familiarity with construction software.
Responsibilities
- Site Supervision: Manage daily on-site activities, supervising the labor force and subcontractors to ensure adherence to blueprints and schedules.
- Technical Advisory: Provide expert technical advice on‑site, interpreting complex engineering drawings and resolving any technical challenges that arise during construction.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Implement quality control processes and enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Resource Management: Coordinate the procurement and delivery of materials, ensuring they meet specified industry standards.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate site diaries and prepare detailed progress reports, cost estimates, and documentation for stakeholders.
- Setting Out: Conduct site surveying, leveling, and setting out for construction works.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Licensure: A professional engineering license or state‑issued certification is typically required.
- Experience: Proven experience (often 3–5 years) in a similar site‑based role.
- Software Proficiency: Strong skills in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and modern project management software.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP) or specialized health and safety training (e.g., CHST).
