Responsibilities

• Develops a strategic financial plan for the hospital as part of the hospital's strategic planning process.
• Works with the hospital Board of Directors, President and CEO, and key units to develop financial goals and objectives for the hospital.
• Implements financial plans, productivity benchmarks, and monitors progress toward financial goals.
• Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends and designing systems.
• Develops forecasts by reviewing economic trends and opportunities for expansion, cost reduction, and systems enhancement.
• Monitors financial performance, initiates corrective actions, and optimizes cash flow.
• Maximizes ROI by identifying investment opportunities and maintaining relationships with investors.
• Reports financial status by forecasting, analyzing variances, and implementing improvements.
• Ensures all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and internal controls support clean audits.
• Maintains revenue cycle processes and regulatory knowledge.
• Monitors cash balances and forecasts; analyzes annual budget vs. performance.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER FOR A HOSPITAL

Job Responsibilities

• Develops a strategic financial plan for the hospital as part of the hospital's strategic planning process.
• Works with the hospital Board of Directors, President and CEO, and key units to develop financial goals and objectives for the hospital.
• Works with department managers and patient care executives to implement financial plans and productivity benchmarks, and to monitor progress toward the achievement of financial goals.
• Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measures; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; maximizing use of resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
• Develops organization forecasts by reviewing economic trends and revenue opportunities, expansion prospects, analyzing organization operations and identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement, accumulating capital to fund expansion.
• Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
• Maximizes return on investment on funds by identifying investment opportunities, maintaining relationships with the investment community.
• Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements and setting up the right benchmarks
• Responsible for all financial accounting and reporting, examination of insurance policies to ascertain that hospital assets are properly insured against losses and that the hospital's liability coverage meets the hospital's management contract requirements; participates in internal work groups, committees as appropriate for the set-up and review of procedures and internal controls of the division.
• Ensures that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and a system of internal controls is in place to facilitate a clean audit opinion with no audit adjustments or internal control deficiencies noted.
• Maintains effective revenue cycle processes to keep patient accounts receivable at an acceptable level, and increases the hospital's cash flow.
• Maintains a working knowledge of relevant regulatory issues, professional and industry practices, as well as government laws and regulations.
• Monitors cash balances and cash forecasts.
• Develops, monitors and analyzes annual budget vis-à-vis annual performance and productivity and implements necessary improvement plans

Minimum Specifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or any related discipline required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA); MBA or MHA degree preferred
• At least five (5) years of management experience; healthcare environment preferred.
