About the role

This is a Chemist position involving sample collection, preparation, and analysis in a laboratory setting. You will operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment, perform tests and experiments, and ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collecting samples for analysis, which may include biological specimens, chemicals, or materials

• Preparing samples for testing by following established protocols and procedures

• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, such as microscopes, spectrophotometers, chromatographs, and other specialized machinery

• Calibrating and troubleshooting instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results

• Performing a variety of tests and experiments on samples using appropriate methodologies

• Analyzing and interpreting test results to generate accurate and reliable data

• Identifying abnormalities or deviations in test results and reporting them to senior staff

• Implementing and adhering to quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of laboratory results

• Recording and documenting test results, procedures, and other relevant information accurately

• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, laboratory standards, and relevant legal requirements
