The Category Sourcing Officer supports strategic sourcing for assigned categories by executing sourcing activities, conducting market and bid analysis, engaging suppliers, and coordinating implementation. The role aims to improve cost, quality, service, and supply continuity across operations.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and execute category strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and plans for assigned categories or sub-categories aligned with business priorities
Execute and support end-to-end sourcing activities including RFQs, RFPs, e-bids, reverse auctions, and supplier pre-qualification
Prepare commercial evaluations, bid comparisons, savings analysis, and total cost of ownership models to support sourcing decisions
Conduct spend analysis, demand profiling, inventory analysis, supply market research, supplier mapping, benchmarking, and price trend analysis for assigned categories
Work closely with internal stakeholders to clarify specifications, scope, service levels, delivery expectations, and implementation requirements
Manage supplier engagement and negotiations under the guidance of the Category Sourcing Lead
Prepare sourcing summaries, recommendation report, approval documents, and implementation support materials
Monitor sourcing progress, implementation actions, contract status, and savings follow-through to help ensure delivery of expected value
Support supplier performance management, issue tracking, corrective actions, and alternate source development
Maintain complete and accurate sourcing files, analytical tools, and ERP records in line with procurement process requirements
Contribute to improving category data quality, reporting, sourcing visibility, and market intelligence across assigned categories
Stay current on market trends, commodity price movements, and supply risks relevant to assigned categories, sharing timely intelligence with the team
Contribute to standardization, specification optimization, process improvement, and procurement transformation initiatives
Assess vendor risks as part of supplier pre-qualification and onboarding processes
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field
Procurement certification (e.g., CIPS/CPSM) and sourcing-related training are an advantage
At least 3 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
Experience in RFQ/RFP, bid evaluation, supplier qualification, TCO analysis, and ERP-based sourcing
Preferably with manufacturing or project-based industry background
Exposure to supplier negotiations, contract preparation, and savings tracking
Knowledge of sourcing tools/ERP systems (e.g., INFOR, SAP Ariba, Coupa)
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple sourcing activities
Must be willing to work at BGC, Taguig City
