Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers: Providing friendly and helpful service to customers as they approach the register.
• Handling transactions: Scanning items, entering prices, processing payments (cash, credit, debit, etc.), and giving change when necessary.
• Maintaining the checkout area: Keeping the register area clean and organized, restocking supplies like bags, receipt paper, and registers.
• Ensuring accurate pricing: Verifying pricing and promotions, handling price discrepancies, and ensuring all items are properly rung up.
• Balancing the cash drawer: Counting and reconciling the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accuracy.
• Customer service: Answering customer questions, resolving issues or complaints, and sometimes assisting with returns or exchanges.
