MicroSourcing is seeking a Cash Application Analyst - Intermediate for a remote night shift role. You will independently process, apply, and audit high-volume customer payments across multiple gateways and remittance files.

The role requires 3+ years in cash applications or AR, strong Excel, ERP awareness, and collaboration with Treasury, Billing, and Finance. MicroSourcing offers healthcare, bonuses, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cash applications, A/R, or related accounting operations.
• Deep expertise in A/R mechanics, double-entry ledger balancing, short-pay resolution, and ledger auditing.
• Strong MS Excel skills with advanced functions and data manipulation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Process, apply, and audit high-volume payments across gateways, lockboxes, wires, and electronic remittance files.
• Analyze payment histories and invoices to resolve unapplied cash, unidentified deposits, short pays, and ledger variances.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Billing, Collections, and Finance leadership to resolve payment exceptions.
• Identify bottlenecks and support process automation and UAT testing for system upgrades.
• Maintain SOPs, support month-end close, and monitor team queues for SOX compliance.

Your role

• Advanced Cash Processing & Application: Independently process, apply, and audit high-volume customer payments across complex payment gateways, lockboxes, wires, and EDI electronic remittance files.
• Complex Reconciliations & Root‑Cause Analysis: Analyze customer payment histories, contracts, and invoices to resolve intricate unapplied cash, unidentified deposits, short pays, overpayments, and ledger balances.
• Cross‑Functional Escalation Partnering: Collaborate directly with Treasury, Billing, Collections, and Finance leadership to resolve structural payment exceptions and align cash flow records.
• Process Automation & Analytics: Proactively identify workflow bottlenecks, support system upgrade/UAT testing, and recommend process automation (e.g., automated match rules, lockbox optimization).
• Reporting, SOPs & Governance: Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), support month‑end close schedules, enforce SOX compliance controls, and monitor team work queues.
• Mentorship & Quality Support: Provide day‑to‑day guidance, technical support, and informal training to Cash Applications Analyst I team members.

Non‑negotiables

What You Need:

• Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience in cash applications, accounts receivable (A/R), or complex financial accounting operations.
• Advanced Reconciliations & Accounting Knowledge: Deep expertise in A/R mechanics, double‑entry ledger balancing, short‑pay resolution, and root‑cause ledger auditing.
• Advanced MS Excel Mastery: Proven hands‑on proficiency with Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, nested formulas, and data manipulation tools for large financial datasets.
• Independent Problem Solving: Ability to research unstructured financial data, untangle complex historical account ledgers, and execute corrective actions autonomously.
• Systems & Governance Literacy: Proven experience working within enterprise ERP platforms while adhering strictly to SOX compliance guidelines and internal controls.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• ERP & Analytics Stack: Practical experience with platforms such as Oracle Cloud Fusion, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, or analytics tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx.
• Specialized Industry Exposure: Background in healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM), SaaS/technology billing, or high‑volume B2B environments.
• System Testing & Implementations: Direct participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ERP migrations, or automated cash application tool rollouts.
