A Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment for residents, tenants, or property owners. This includes a wide range of duties such as cleaning, minor maintenance, security tasks, and providing assistance to individuals as needed. Caretakers may work in residential, commercial, or institutional settings, ensuring the property and its occupants are well cared for.

Responsibilities

Cleaning & Maintenance:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.) in common areas and private spaces.
• Conduct basic maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, repairing minor plumbing issues, or fixing broken fixtures.
• Ensure the grounds, gardens, and surrounding areas are tidy, including lawn care, weeding, and trash removal.

Security & Safety:

• Monitor the premises for any signs of damage, vandalism, or unsafe conditions and report them to management.
• Lock and secure doors, gates, and windows after hours.
• Ensure fire safety equipment is in place and regularly maintained.

Assistance to Residents/Tenants:

• Assist elderly or disabled residents with daily tasks such as mobility, personal care, or transportation if required.
• Provide a warm and welcoming environment for residents, offering support and guidance as needed.

Inventory Management:

• Keep track of supplies such as cleaning products, tools, and maintenance materials.
• Order replacements as needed to maintain proper inventory levels.

Communication:

• Maintain communication with property management to report issues, make suggestions, and keep them informed of any concerns or requests from residents.
• Handle any complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certifications in caregiving, nursing assistant programs, or first aid are a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience in caregiving or related fields preferred but not always required.
