Job summary

Twoconnect is seeking a CAD Technician to transform architectural concepts into precise drawings for commercial fit-out and specialist joinery projects. You will produce detailed, scalable drawings using AutoCAD, coordinate with designers, workshop teams, and site personnel, and ensure accuracy for production and installation.

The role requires a relevant degree, strong CAD software skills, and experience delivering manufacturing and installation drawings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Industrial Design or related discipline is essential.
Previous CAD Technician or drafting role experience is essential.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD software is essential.
Ability to interpret architectural/engineering drawings accurately.
Excellent maths, dimensions and calculations abilities are essential.
Experience producing detailed manufacturing/construction/installation drawings is essential.
Experience with joinery knowledge and UK construction practices is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Produce accurate, detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD and other approved CAD software.
Develop concepts into detailed working drawings for commercial fit-out and joinery projects.
Prepare manufacturing, construction and installation drawings and supporting documentation.
Modify drawings for design changes and site information.
Prepare drawing packages for tender, approval, manufacture and site installation.
Check drawings for accuracy, completeness and consistency before issue.
Maintain drawing registers, revisions and project documentation.
Coordinate with architects, designers, and site teams to ensure design intent.
Resolve CAD and constructability challenges with the Design Team.
Identify drawing conflicts and escalate as needed.
Support quality control by reviewing colleagues’ drawings.
Ensure compliance with industry, health & safety and company standards.
Manage multiple drawing packages and prioritize against deadlines.
Provide clear technical information to workshop, manufacturing, construction teams.
Communicate progress, risks and missing information to the Design Team.
Contribute to continuous improvement of drawing standards and templates.
Other position-level duties as they arise.
