Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a CAD/Revit Drafter to join a medium-sized team on-site. You will produce structural detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensure adherence to CAD/ BIM management plans, and coordinate with structural engineers and other disciplines.

The role requires a background in civil engineering or architecture, at least three years of drafting experience, and the ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced computer and software skills in preparing Structural Detailed Design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit or equivalent.
• Experience coordinating with Architecture, Civil and MEPF disciplines for consistent drawing output.
• Ability to understand and follow simple to complex instructions and diagrams.
• Familiarity with structural detailing works and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Understand interfaces between Structural Engineers and CAD/Revit Drafters and other disciplines.
• Prepare structural detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Review drawings to ensure compliance with CAD/BIM Management Plans before submission.
• Coordinate with Structural Engineer Originator and other disciplines for consistent drawing production.
• Consult with Lead CAD/Revit or Sr. Team Lead for clarifications on markups or instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager, Structural Engineering.

Context

The CAD/ Revit Drafter is part of a medium sized team that has to work with limited supervision. He/She will report directly to Lead – CAD and Revit and is expected to assist the team in the production of quality drawing packages/ deliverables. The environment is fast paced and initiative is expected.

Missions/Main Duties

• Understand all necessary interfaces between Structural Engineers and CAD/ Revit Drafters as well as to the other disciplines
• Understands the project requirements and prepare structural detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit or equivalent drafting/detailing software
• Reviews own drawings and ensures that the drawing package is as per project requirement (CAD Management Plan and/or BIM Management Plan) before submitting to Checker/ Lead – CAD/ Revit for further review.
• Coordinates with Structural Engineer Originator and different disciplines such as Architecture, Civil and MEPF for consistent drawing production
• Consults with the Lead – CAD and Revit or the Sr. Team Lead SE should there be clarification on the markups or instruction
• Other necessary duties/ responsibilities given by Manager, Structural Engineering.

Profile/Skills

• Advanced computer and software skills in preparing Structural Detailed Design drawings (AutoCAD and Revit software or equivalent)
• Worked with various disciplines (Architecture, Civil, MEPF) to achieve project objectives
• Ability to understand and follow simple to complex instructions and diagrams
• Familiarity with structural detailing works
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Spatial ability; and
• Attention to details
• Preferably a student or graduate of Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent
• Have at least three (3) years of related experience in the drafting/ detailing of vertical structures, preferably railway stations; and
• Certification from accredited drafting institutions/ agencies is an advantage
