You will revise drawings per engineers and project managers, conduct site visits to verify conditions, coordinate with teams, and ensure deliverables meet drafting standards and deadlines.
The CAD Operator is responsible for preparing, revising, and maintaining accurate technical drawings for architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects. The role supports construction and engineering teams by producing high-quality drawings, ensuring compliance with drafting standards, documenting design changes, and assisting in site validation and as-built documentation.
Job Description:
Review and understand instructions from the Construction Manager before starting CAD drawings.
Prepare detailed architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings and plans.
Revise and update drawings based on instructions from engineers, architects, and project managers.
Conduct site visits to gather measurements, verify existing conditions, and collect data required for accurate drafting.
Modify existing drawings to reflect design revisions and project requirements.
Prepare and develop shop drawings for construction and installation.
Create and maintain standard drawing templates, layouts, and drafting standards.
Update and maintain electronic drawing files and engineering documents.
Track, monitor, and document engineering and design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all drawings comply with company drafting standards, engineering specifications, and applicable codes.
Organize and archive electronic drawings for future reference and retrieval.
Assist Site Engineers in reviewing and validating as-built drawings submitted by contractors.
Coordinate with project teams to ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
1-3 years of CAD drafting experience in construction or engineering.
Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit or other BIM software is an advantage.
Knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP drafting standards.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare shop and as-built drawings.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Willing to conduct site visits and meet project deadlines.
