Job summary

Mevbuilt Incorporated is seeking a CAD Operator (MEPF) to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and related CAD software for construction and engineering projects.

The role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand design intent, preparing shop drawings, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards. Some site visits may be required to gather measurements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a technical drafting course or related field.
• Proven experience as CAD Operator or Draftsman in construction/engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
• Knowledge of construction methods and terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Description

The CAD Operator (MEPF) is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software to support engineering and architectural projects. This role plays a key part in the preparation of construction plans, layouts, and other schematics based on specifications provided by engineers and project managers.

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD or other CAD software.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand design intent and project requirements.
• Modify existing drawings to reflect design changes and ensure drawings are up to date.
• Prepare construction/shop drawings, as-built plans, and other technical documents.
• Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions.
• Conduct site visits (as required) to gather necessary measurements and information.
• Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, industry standards, and company policies.

Requirements

• Graduate of a technical drafting course or related field (e.g., BS Architecture, BS Civil Engineering is a plus).
• Proven experience as a CAD Operator or Draftsman in a construction or engineering firm.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
• Knowledge of construction methods and terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
