Private Advertiser is seeking a Manager - Buyer (Dry Food - Beverages) in Makati to own end-to-end buying and category management for Dry Food and Beverages. About the role
The Manager - Buyer (Dry Food - Beverages) owns the end-to-end buying and category management function for the Dry Food and Beverages category. Operating as a hands-on commercial leader, this role conceptualizes, develops, and procures products in line with company guidelines to achieve launch, sales, margin, and profitability targets as the organization expands its retail and wholesale footprint in the Philippines.
Key responsibilities
Plan, select, and manage the complete range of Dry Food and Beverage SKUs (including core items, seasonal lines, and new market entries)
Capture, analyze, and predict market demand trends to continuously optimize product assortment
Manage product lifecycle from initial item creation and launch to inventory exit/disposal
Source, evaluate, and onboard new local and international suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendor networks
Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations for purchase prices, payment terms, rebates, volume discounts, listing fees, and trade support packages
Monitor vendor performance, order fulfillment, and delivery timelines to ensure continuous stock availability
Build and deliver comprehensive category plans covering sales targets, gross margins, price positioning, and stock turn velocity
Set up pricing strategies, review discount structures, and conduct competitive market benchmarking against rival retail brands
Manage stock level planning, safety stock, and replenishment logic in response to shifting sales demand and supply logistics
Collaborate with Store Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure proper store-level execution, promotional alignment, and display placement
About you
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, International Business, or a related discipline
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of direct experience in category management, retail buying, or strategic sourcing, preferably within FMCG, grocery assortments, or food & beverage sectors
Proficiency in enterprise ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, MMS, iValua) and advanced data analytics tools (MS Excel, BI)
Strong volume negotiation abilities, solid commercial and merchandising sense, analytical data management, stakeholder coordination, and a proactive, results-oriented drive
