Job summary

Makro Philippines is seeking an Assistant Manager - Buyer to support category management and sourcing execution across the Dry Food division. You will work closely with the Category Manager to implement buying plans, manage supplier relationships, and influence assortment and pricing decisions for an expanding wholesale footprint in the Philippines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–4 years in category management, buying, or merchandising, preferably in retail,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
3–4 years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandising.
Exposure to supplier negotiation or vendor management is a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Experience in Dry Food categories is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Support development and execution of category strategy, assortment planning, and pricing.
Assist in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and relationship management.
Monitor trading agreements, promotions, and margin performance.
Analyze sales data and market trends for growth opportunities.
Coordinate with Marketing, Store Operations, and Supply Chain for category execution.
Support and mentor Category Assistants where applicable.
