Qualifications

• Proven track record achieving KRAs and KPIs in IT risk.
• Knowledge of BSP Circular No. 1213 (2025).
• Banking sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the IT risk management framework implementation to drive business value.
• Conduct quality IT risk assessments and identify process gaps and root causes.
• Ensure IT policies and procedures are adequately implemented in business lines.
• Identify IT risk training needs and provide education.
• Develop risk responses and mitigating actions with timelines.
• Ensure risk mitigation strategies approved by the Board are executed.
• Determine IT group's risk exposures and communicate to senior management.
• Review key IT risks, controls, and mitigation strategies regularly.
• Prepare risk management reports for bank-level and board-level committees.
• Intervene and elevate when risk management efforts are blocked.

About the role

The Business Risk Manager provides leadership and guidance to business line management regarding operational risk responsibilities. This role is responsible for the daily identification, management, and reporting of operational risks inherent in the organization's products, activities, processes, and IT systems.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the implementation of the IT risk management framework and promote the use of risk management tools to drive business value
• Conduct quality IT risk assessments and perform deep-dive analysis to identify process and control gaps, including root causes of risks
• Ensure business-line-specific policies, processes, and procedures are adequate and effectively implemented
• Identify the IT Group's risk management training needs and ensure appropriate education is provided
• Assist the IT Group in developing risk responses, establishing mitigating actions, and defining timetables and accountabilities
• Ensure that risk mitigation strategies approved by the Board and senior management are executed as intended
• Determine the IT Group's risk exposures and emerging risks, communicating findings to senior management
• Regularly review key IT risks, internal controls, and operational risk mitigation strategies to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide policies
• Prepare regular risk management reports for presentation to bank-level and board-level committees, articulating significant risk exposures requiring immediate attention
• Intervene and elevate instances where risk management efforts are obstructed

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or MBA
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT Risk Management
• Solid understanding of IT business and operations
• Proven experience creating and leading the implementation of IT Risk Management Frameworks
• Experience in reviewing and identifying process gaps within IT risk policies
• Demonstrated success in leading the achievement of KRAs and KPIs within an IT Risk Management unit
• Strong knowledge of BSP Circular No. 1213 (2025)
• Experience in the banking sector is preferred
