Job summary

Dyson Philippines is seeking a Business Operations Manager to provide analytical and management support to the SEA Product Development operations in the Philippines, based at our Batangas campus. You will contribute to strategic initiatives, build models and dashboards, and help scale engineering capability in this new location.

Responsibilities

• Delivering core data analysis and decision support underpinning strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations in Philippines.
• Developing and maintaining programme-level models to support decision-making on product portfolio, resourcing, engineering capability, and recruitment planning.
• Driving strategic and transformational initiatives across the Product Development organisation and Dyson Philippines, analysing internal data and processes.
• Designing and maintaining programme-level publications, communication materials and team online resources.
• Organising and maintaining decision-making data and stakeholder documentation.
• Supporting the Country Head in running cadences including PH Leadership, PH Management Team, and all-hands meetings.
• Supporting cross-functional cadence across the business including Leadership and Functional forums.

The Office of the CTO (OCTO) plays an integral role in managing the core business operations of the SEA Product Development organisation (i.e., Engineering function with operations in multiple locations in SEA) and supporting the Chief Technology Officer in critical business decision-making. Additionally, the OCTO function plays a leading role in driving strategic and programme-level initiatives which includes working with different organisations across Dyson. The OCTO team are a highly motivated group of critical thinkers and structured problem-solvers who are passionate about making a positive impact on the business. They take ownership of the day-to-day running of the SEA Product Development organisation and delivering on wide-ranging strategic and transformational objectives at organisation and Dyson enterprise-level.

About the role

We are a small but growing team, with a very flat structure and the expectation to make a significant and lasting impact on the business. We are looking for a Business Operations Manager to join our team and play a leading role in providing analytical and management support to our SEA Product Development operations in Philippines. Being one of our newest locations, we have ambitious plans to grow our operations in Philippines and part of this role will involve closely supporting our Country Head of Engineering, in expanding and establishing our engineering capability and capacity in this location. As such, this role will provide a unique blend of strategic, operational and business development work experience as well as the opportunity to lead the growth our business in Philippines. You will be based in our recently opened Philippines Technology Campus in Batangas. Specific tasks and activities will include but are not limited to:

• Delivering core data analysis and decision support, underpinning the implementation of strategic and programme-level initiatives and the day-to-day running of our Product Development operations in Philippines
• Developing and maintaining programme-level models to support decision-making on topics that include product portfolio management, strategic resourcing, engineering capability, infrastructure and recruitment planning etc.
• Playing a key role in driving a wide-range of strategic and transformational initiatives across the Product Development organisation and Dyson Philippines, which will involve analysing internal data, developing targeted analytical models, assessing and improving functional or operational processes, designing and running workshops, forums and steering groups etc.
• Developing, designing and maintaining programme-level publications, communication materials and our team’s online resources
• Organising and maintaining decision-making data and stakeholder documentation
• Supporting the Country Head in running regular cadences which includes PH Leadership meetings, PH Management Team meetings, PH All Hands meetings and various Country-level forums
• Supporting the team in running regular cadence across the business which includes (but is not limited to): Leadership meetings, Management Team meetings, and various Functional forums

This role will provide you with unrivalled exposure to senior leaders in the business and provide you with opportunities to influence a wide-ranging set of critical management decisions that will impact Product Development at Dyson and our Dyson Philippines operations. About you

As a Business Operations Manager in the product development space in Dyson, we will expect you to:

• Have Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics or related disciplines
• Have an interest and an aptitude for product development, engineering, and solving problems; exposure to related fields/industries is a bonus but not a requirement
• Have a strong analytical toolkit; proficient MS Excel, PowerBI and Power Apps skills is a must and experience with advanced analytical tools (e.g. Tableau, SQL, Python) is a bonus
• Have a very structured, diligent and data-driven approach to problem solving
• Have strong written and verbal communications skills, and an ability to effectively manage and influence a diverse set of stakeholders
• Be effective in building your own networks to learn about product development and the various stakeholder groups in the business and their interdependencies
• Be a critical thinker with a keen attention to detail and a resourceful self-learner
• Be a self-starter, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a "roll-up-your-sleeves" and get it done attitude
