Job summary

NightOwl Consulting seeks an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to design and maintain reporting and analytics solutions. You will build scalable data models, dashboards, and ETL pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and governance while translating business needs into actionable insights.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, work with Azure-based platforms, and support production BI systems in a fast-paced environment, often remotely. 2–5+ years in BI is expected.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data-focused roles.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with Power BI and DAX or similar BI tools and languages.
• Strong SQL skills for data querying and transformation.
• Experience with data modeling (dimensional modeling, semantic layers).
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and governance practices.
• Experience working with structured deployment processes (e.g., CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI).
• Develop and manage datasets, data models, and semantic layers to support reporting.
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.

Description

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting, analytics, and data solutions that support ALCOVA Mortgage's business operations and decision-making processes.

This role focuses on building scalable data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions, while ensuring data accuracy, governance, and accessibility. The BI Developer works closely with business stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights and supports the full lifecycle of data and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
• Develop and manage datasets, data models, and semantic layers to support consistent reporting 3. Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
