TV5 Network, Inc. is seeking an RF Broadcast Technician 1 to operate and monitor on-site broadcast equipment from reception to transmission. You will perform routine maintenance, logging, and fault monitoring to keep systems in optimal condition.
The role requires readiness to handle electrical/mechanical gear, IT equipment, and baseband systems, with focus on signal quality and timely on-air tasks. Experience is valued, but ECT or RTO licenses may be required.
The RF Broadcast Technician 1 is responsible for the operation and monitoring of all on-site broadcast and ancillary equipment from signal reception to transmission. The role includes conducting routine cleaning and inspection to ensure that all electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems remain in optimal working condition.
Operates and monitors on-site RF equipment, including but not limited to TV and FM transmitters, TVRO, STL, IP microwave radio, and fiber optics. This includes routine maintenance, fault monitoring, documentation, and parameter logging.
Operates on-site baseband systems such as distribution amplifiers, video/audio processors, monitors, mixers, switchers, routers, and recorders, ensuring proper function and conducting routine maintenance.
Operates all on-site electrical, and mechanical equipment comprising of but not limited to Genset, Battery Charger, ATS, MTS, Electrical Panelboard, ACU, UPS, AVR, Heat Exchanger, Pump Module, Transformer, and TVSS. All activities include regular monitoring and documentation of alarms and faults.
Operates all on-site broadcast related IT equipment such as computers, network switches, and peripherals including routine cleaning maintenance.
Monitors the quality of both incoming and outgoing broadcast signals, making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal transmission standards.
Executes daily on-air directives such as the playout of advertisements, promotional plugs, and local programming as required.
Conducts regular inspections of technical areas to identify signs of wear or abnormal conditions (e.g., burns, corrosion, loose connections, overheating, unusual sounds or odors, leaks). Takes prompt corrective action in coordination with the Station Engineering Head.
Records TV and FM on-air signals when needed. Ensures secure storage of recorded audio/video files for at least six (6) months or as directed by management.
Keeps daily operations and maintenance logs updated. Reports any equipment issues immediately and performs initial troubleshooting when possible.
Prepares and submits technical reports and documentation as instructed by the Station Engineering Head.
Preferably a graduate of BS in Electronics Engineering.
Must be a licensed Electronics Technician (ECT) or holder of 1st Class Radiotelephone Operator (RTO) license.
No experience required for ECT license holders.
At least one (1) year of relevant experience required for 1st Class RTO holders.
Good motor coordination and manual dexterity.
Demonstrates sound judgment and presence of mind under pressure.
Basic knowledge of electricity, electronics, and instrumentation.
Working knowledge of computers and application software.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret block and schematic diagrams.
