Job summary

Remoto Workforce is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to support the day-to-day accounting operations of multiple U.S.-based clients. You will be responsible for transaction categorization, bank and credit card reconciliations, and Trial Balance preparation, ensuring accuracy across client ledgers.

The ideal candidate has worked in accounting or bookkeeping firms, can manage several client accounts simultaneously, and communicates effectively in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Strong experience with transaction categorization and bank/credit card reconciliations.
• Experience managing multiple clients or multiple accounting entities simultaneously.
• Understanding of debits/credits, assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses.
• Experience with QuickBooks or another professional accounting platform.
• Strong Excel and general computer skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Professional communication skills in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Record and categorize daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple client entities.
• Research and resolve unidentified or incorrectly categorized transactions.
• Maintain accurate vendor and general ledger records.
• Prepare client books through the Trial Balance stage for tax preparation.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly sales tax reporting and filings.
• Maintain client accounting records using Accounting CS.
• Support the transition and cleanup of accounting data and workflows into modern cloud-based platforms.
• Assist with Chart of Accounts cleanup and standardization.
• Communicate with clients regarding missing statements, receipts, W-9s, or transaction clarification.
• Support invoicing, payment processing, and other accounting-related administrative activities.
• Assist junior team members or accounting interns with bookkeeping processes and software navigation.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to support the day-to-day accounting operations of multiple U.S.-based clients.

This role is ideal for someone who has worked in an accounting or bookkeeping firm, is comfortable managing multiple client accounts simultaneously, and has strong hands-on experience with transaction categorization, bank and credit card reconciliations, and Trial Balance preparation.

Experience with Accounting CS (Thomson Reuters) is highly preferred.

What You'll Do

• Record and categorize daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.

Required Qualifications
