Job summary

BLAZING STAR INTERNATIONAL MANPOWER SERVICES in the Philippines seeks a skilled metal fabricator to heat, cut, and assemble structural elements. You will read blueprints, set up CNC machines, weld stainless steel and aluminum, and ensure precise dimensions with layout marks.

This role requires hands-on experience with TIG and MIG welding, familiarity with G-code/M-code, and the ability to inspect first-off parts and correct spring-back. Vocational or technical training is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in metal fabrication or welding.
• Vocational diploma or short course in metalworking or related field.
• Technical school diploma or apprenticeship in blacksmithing/metalworking.
• Ability to read heat colors accurately to judge metal malleability.
• Ability to read and input programming codes (G-code/M-code).

Responsibilities

• Heats metal forges or furnaces to precise temperatures for malleability.
• Hammers, punches, and cuts structural elements using anvils and hand tools.
• Reads blueprints and calculates dimensions, bend allowances, and cutting lines.
• Marks reference points, center lines, and fabrication paths on metal.
• Coordinates with CNC Laser Cutting and Bending Operators for material layout.
• Sets up and operates CNC press brakes, folding machines, and tube benders.
• Selects die tooling based on thickness and radius.
• Inspects first-off pieces with protractors to correct spring-back.
• Welds using TIG (GTAW) for stainless steel/aluminum and MIG (GMAW) for heavy parts.
• Clamps and tacks parts before final welding; blends weld joints with grinders.
• Removes heat discoloration, scale, scratches, and stains from welding.
• Applies protective coatings to finished surfaces for transit protection.

Job Description

• Heats metal in forges or furnaces to precise temperatures for malleability.
• Hammers, punches, and cuts structural elements using anvils, power hammers, and hand tools.
• Analyzes blueprints and calculates exact dimensions, bend allowances, and cutting lines.
• Marks reference points, center lines, and fabrication paths onto metal using scribes, punches, and dividers.
• Coordinates directly with CNC Laser Cutting and Bending Operators to ensure optimal material layout and minimal waste.
• Sets up, programs, and operates CNC press brakes, folding machines, and tube benders.
• Selects the correct die tooling based on material thickness and requested radius.
• Inspects the first-off piece using angles and protractors to correct for material "spring-back."
• Performs high-grade TIG (GTAW) welding for aesthetic stainless steel/aluminum, and MIG (GMAW) welding for heavy structural parts.
• Clamps and tacks parts together based on the Layouter's marks before final welding.
• Uses angle grinders, sanding belts, and buffing wheels to blend weld joints seamlessly into the surrounding metal.
• Removes heat discoloration, scale, scratches, and chemical stains caused during welding and fabrication.
• Applies protective coatings or tapes to finished architectural surfaces to prevent damage during transit.

Qualification

• A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
• Technical school diploma or a formal apprenticeship in blacksmithing/metalworking.
• Ability to read heat colors accurately by eye to determine metal malleability.
• Ability to read and input programming codes (G-code/M-code or proprietary machine software).
