Integrate models from different engineering platforms into a federated project model.
Perform regular clash detection and coordinate the resolution of design conflicts with engineering and drafting teams.
Maintain model accuracy, integrity and consistency throughout design development.
Conduct model reviews and identify potential constructability, accessibility and maintenance issues.
Support the production of coordinated engineering drawings, construction documentation and model deliverables.
BIM Standards and Quality Assurance
Implement and maintain project BIM standards, procedures and modelling requirements.
Assist with the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
Ensure models comply with client specifications, applicable Australian standards and project BIM requirements.
Monitor model naming conventions, coordinate systems, revision control and information requirements.
Conduct quality assurance checks and model audits before issuing project deliverables.
Maintain accurate model registers, coordination reports and issue tracking documentation.
Project Coordination and Collaboration
Liaise with Australian-based engineers, designers, project managers and other project stakeholders.
Facilitate multidisciplinary model reviews and BIM coordination meetings.
Identify and resolve model integration and coordination issues.
Support project teams in implementing efficient BIM workflows and digital engineering practices.
Coordinate the exchange of model information between different software platforms and project participants.
Assist in developing and improving internal BIM procedures, templates and modelling workflows.
Digital Engineering and Information Management
Manage BIM deliverables within project Common Data Environments (CDEs).
Ensure appropriate control of model revisions, file structures, metadata and document integration.
Support interoperability between Autodesk, Bentley, Tekla and other engineering design platforms.
Assist with model data extraction, quantity take-offs and reporting where required.
Investigate opportunities to improve productivity through model automation, scripting and digital engineering technologies.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in BIM coordination, BIM modelling or digital engineering within engineering, construction or industrial projects.
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Drafting or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary 3D models.
Strong understanding of clash detection, model federation and BIM quality assurance procedures.
Working knowledge of BIM standards, model information requirements and project delivery workflows.
Experience working with engineering design teams on large-scale or technically complex projects.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs and 3D design models.
Understanding of model coordinate systems, model referencing and design data exchange.
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with Australian-based project teams.
Essential – demonstrated experience with:
Autodesk Navisworks Manage – model federation, clash detection and coordination.
Autodesk AutoCAD and associated engineering design workflows.
BIM model management, coordination and quality assurance.
Common Data Environments and digital document management systems.
Highly Desirable – experience with one or more of:
Autodesk Revit
