Job summary

Staffing For Doctors seeks a Medical Scribe with ophthalmology experience to work alongside our ophthalmologist in the clinic, documenting patient encounters live on an iPad and bridging communication between patients and the provider.

The ideal candidate has prior ophthalmology scribing experience, strong ophthalmic terminology knowledge, and comfort with fast-paced, room-to-room documentation, including English and Spanish language fluency.

About The Role

We're seeking a Medical Scribe with prior ophthalmology experience to work directly alongside our ophthalmologist throughout the clinic day. This is hands-on, real-time work: you'll go room to room with the doctor, documenting each patient encounter live on an iPad while also helping bridge communication between the doctor and patients. Prior scribing experience in an ophthalmology setting is the single most important qualification for this role — the pace, terminology, and exam structure in ophthalmology are distinct enough that general medical scribing experience alone isn't a substitute. If you've scribed for an eye doctor before and know your way around an ophthalmic exam, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

• Accompany the doctor room to room throughout the clinic day, documenting each patient encounter in real time
• Update and maintain accurate clinical notes as the exam progresses
• Translate and relay patient communication to the doctor, helping ensure nothing gets lost between what the patient shares and what gets documented
• Work continuously on an iPad throughout the shift, staying paced with the doctor's exam flow from room to room
• Finalize notes accurately and completely to support the clinical record

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience scribing specifically for an ophthalmologist — this is the most important qualification for this role
• Strong knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, exam components, and common diagnoses/procedures
• Comfortable working continuously on an iPad in a fast-paced, room-to-room clinical setting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in real-time documentation
• Comfortable serving as a communication bridge between patients and the provider, fluent in both English and Spanish languages.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ModMed EMR — a strong plus, highly preferred
