Overview
This is a STAY-IN POSITION located at UMINGAN, PANGASINAN.
S/he will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness at the boar stud, boar handling, semen collection, and record keeping (both hard and soft copies).
Responsibilities
- Implementing biosecurity SOPs
- Semen collection
- Boar management (i.e., medication, feeding, vaccination)
- Ensuring cleanliness
- Sample collection
- Data recording and inventory management
- Boar training
- Boar body condition scoring
Qualifications
- Proficiency in record keeping, data entry, and basic computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity
- Willing to trained in board handling and semen collection
- Good physical stamina
Education & Training
- At least high school graduate
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Biology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience in swine reproduction labs).
- Training or coursework in animal reproduction / swine farms
Preferred skills
- Blood collection and storage
- MS Word and MS Excel
- Boar handling
- Basic machine maintenance
- Knowledge on basic repairs
Technical Skills
- Semen collection

- Familiarity with biosecurity protocols in swine production facilities
Workplace & Operational Skills
- Competence in maintaining cleanliness, equipment calibration, and consumables inventory.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures for animal handling and laboratory operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work around boars and in animal housing environments.
- Capability to lift/move up to 20–25 kg (for handling equipment or supplies).
Behavioral & Team Skills
- Strong observation skills and problem-solving ability when detecting abnormalities in boar behavior and physical defects
- Ability to follow strict SOPs
- Efficient team player
