Barista responsibilities include preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages in a coffee shop or café. - Maintain and clean coffee machines and equipment.
- Ensure the presentation of drinks meets the establishment\'s standards.
- Upsell and suggest items based on customer preferences.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may prefer post-secondary education or related certifications).
- Previous experience in a coffee shop or customer service role (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and making change.
- A passion for coffee and an understanding of various brewing methods (espresso, pour-over, etc.).
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays (depending on the café\'s hours).
- Physical stamina for standing for long periods and lifting bags of coffee or other supplies.
