Job summary

Coins is seeking a Backend Engineer in the Philippines to build and scale Java-based microservices for our payment platform. You will work with senior engineers, integrate with banks and payment networks, and use AI tools to accelerate development.

Required skills include Java/Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and Mandarin proficiency to collaborate with regional teams. You will contribute to reliability, performance, and secure handling of customer funds.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of backend development experience.
• Hands-on Java with Spring Boot; other backends welcome.
• Familiarity with microservices, RESTful APIs, and relational databases.
• Strong interest in AI and AI tooling.
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and business-level English.
• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and willingness to learn.
• Experience with fintech, payments, or crypto is a plus.
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Alibaba Cloud) is a plus.
