Job summary

Manulife Financial is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Global Technology team in the GWAM domain. You will design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines using Azure data services, enabling robust analytics and data-driven decisions across the enterprise.

You will provide Level 2/3 support, collaborate with business and tech teams, and contribute to data governance and modernization efforts. A hybrid work arrangement (3x onsite) in Quezon City is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering/Data Science.
• Minimum 2 years in Data Engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, ADLS, Azure SQL.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark.
• Experience with CI/CD tools: GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
• Knowledge of data modeling and data quality.
• Experience in Level 2/3 production support.
• ITIL-aligned incident/change management.
• Excellent communication with technical and business audiences.
• Hybrid work setup (3x onsite) in Quezon City; flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines on Azure.
• Build scalable data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes.
• Develop ETL/ELT with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Python.
• Develop data warehouses, marts, and databases.
• Develop data services, APIs, and reusable datasets.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead modernization of data solutions using Azure cloud technologies.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
• Prepare data for reporting and visualization with Power BI.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data platforms and pipelines.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for data platforms and integrations.
• Investigate incidents and data quality issues; perform root cause analysis.
• Document procedures and maintain runbooks.
• Mentor junior team members and support knowledge transfer.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
