Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Global Technology team in the Philippines, focusing on designing, building, and operating enterprise data platforms using Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake, and SQL. You will develop robust data pipelines, support CI/CD, and provide Level 2/3 support for data platforms in a collaborative Agile environment.

The role requires strong SQL/PySpark, experience with Azure data services, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Platform technologies (ADF, Databricks, ADLS, Azure SQL).
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for data engineering and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of data modeling, data quality, and enterprise data architectures.
• Experience in ITIL-aligned incident/change management and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines using Azure services.
• Build and optimize scalable data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes with Python, SQL, PySpark and Azure tools.
• Maintain data warehouses, data marts, and relational/non-relational databases.
• Create data services, APIs, and reusable datasets for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business users, architects, and developers to translate requirements.
• Lead modernization of data solutions using Azure cloud technologies.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Prepare data for reporting and analytics using Power BI and related tools.
• Monitor performance, reliability, and incident response of data platforms.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for enterprise applications and integrations.
• Document procedures, runbooks, and technical specifications.
• Mentor junior team members and participate in knowledge transfer.
