Job summary

Synchrony seeks an AVP, CoreTech Governance & Risk (L10) to lead governance, risk, and compliance activities across global technology, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.

You will drive issue remediation, support audits, oversee policy lifecycles, risk acceptance, and reporting while partnering with Technology, Audit, Compliance, and Risk teams to promote effective governance and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of 1st Line of Defense experience or 8+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong knowledge of IT controls and governance.
• Experience managing governance and risk programs in a regulated environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, audit, and risk.

Responsibilities

• Issue remediation: track, remediate CoreTech issues with tech teams, 2LOD, and Internal Audit.
• Audit support: coordinate evidence collection and responses to auditors/regulators.
• Risk acceptance: manage documentation and approvals per policies.
• Policy lifecycle: develop, review, approve, publish CoreTech policies.
• Exception management: process and document exception requests.
• Metrics: report remediation status and audit readiness to leadership.
