Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, preferably 3D, for detailed shop drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical/fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of structural steel, metal fabrication, welding details is a plus.
• Precise in measurements and technical details.
• Organized in maintaining drawing files and project records.
• Able to coordinate effectively with Engineers, Supervisors, and production personnel.
• Willing to revise drawings to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings in AutoCAD from approved designs, sketches, measurements, and project specifications.
• Create detailed shop drawings for metal fabrication, structural steel, metal frames, hangers, supports, and other fabricated components.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and other technical drawings relevant to the project.
• Revise and update drawings based on approved changes, site conditions, client requirements, and instructions from the Engineer or Supervisor.
• Provide dimensions, material specifications, connection details, cutting information, and other necessary details to guide production and assembly.
• Coordinate with welders, fabricators, installers, and production personnel to ensure drawings are clear and fabrication-ready.
• Assist in site measurements and verifying dimensions to match actual site conditions.
• Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, completeness, and compliance with plans and specs.
• Maintain and save CAD files, PDFs, revisions, and other documents for easy retrieval.
• Prepare and submit drawings for review and approval before fabrication or installation.

About the role

This role involves the preparation of accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD based on approved designs, sketches, measurements, and project specifications. You will create detailed shop drawings for metal fabrication, structural steel, metal frames, hangers, supports, and other fabricated components, and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and other technical drawings relevant to assigned projects.

Key responsibilities

Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD based on approved designs, sketches, measurements, and project specifications

Create detailed shop drawings for metal fabrication, structural steel, metal frames, hangers, supports, and other fabricated components

Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and other technical drawings relevant to the assigned project

Revise and update drawings based on approved changes, site conditions, client requirements, and instructions from the Engineer or Supervisor

Provide dimensions, material specifications, connection details, cutting information, and other necessary details to guide production and assembly

Coordinate with welders, fabricators, installers, and production personnel to ensure that drawings are clear, accurate, and suitable for actual fabrication and installation

Assist in conducting site measurements and verifying dimensions to ensure that drawings match actual site conditions

Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with approved plans and project specifications

Maintain, organize, and properly save CAD files, PDF drawings, revisions, and other technical documents for easy retrieval and reference

Prepare and submit drawings for review and approval before fabrication or installation, as required by company procedures

About you

Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2D and, preferably, 3D

Able to read and interpret technical and fabrication drawings

Knowledge of structural steel, metal fabrication, welding details, and installation drawings is an advantage

Accurate in measurements, dimensions, and technical details

Organized in maintaining drawing files and project records

Able to coordinate effectively with Engineers, Supervisors, and production personnel

Willing to revise drawings and meet reasonable project deadlines
