The role suits someone with basic knowledge of AU accounting processes, strong numerical skills, and a desire to grow within an AU accounting environment, including exposure to BAS and GST workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.
• Prior experience assisting Australian accounting firms or AU accounts.
• Basic knowledge of Australian accounting processes, standards, and terminology (e.g. BAS, GST, general ledger).
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks is a strong advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to learn and grow within an Australian accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with Australian financial and reporting requirements.
• Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Record financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post journal entries as required.
• Maintain general ledger records and assist with bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare basic financial reports and summaries for review by senior accountants.
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
• Assist with BAS preparation support tasks (where applicable).
• Maintain organised financial records and working papers.
• Coordinate with Australian accountants and internal finance teams.
• Respond to information requests and follow up on outstanding items.
• Support audits and reviews by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Perform ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as required.
