Job summary

5 ELK is seeking an Accounting Associate/Bookkeeper to support an Australian firm with day-to-day accounting and compliance tasks. You’ll work with senior accountants to ensure accurate recording of transactions and adherence to Australian standards.

The role involves posting journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with month-end close. Knowledge of Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks is preferred, and strong English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.
• Prior experience assisting Australian accounting firms or AU accounts required.
• Advance knowledge of Australian accounting processes, standards, and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with Australian financial and reporting requirements.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Record financial transactions in the accounting system accurately.
