Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Assistant Cost Manager to support cost management services on construction projects from inception to completion.

You will assist in cost planning, procurement, budgeting, tender management, cost reporting, and commercial administration while working with senior team members and stakeholders. Growth in technical, commercial, and client management skills within a professional cost consultancy is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or Construction Consultancy.
• Strong understanding of quantity surveying and construction cost management principles.
• 2-5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or Construction Consultancy.
• Consultancy experience is highly preferred, though contractor experience with cost planning exposure is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of feasibility estimates, cost plans, budgets, and benchmarking exercises.
• Support the development and maintenance of project cost plans through design stages.
• Assist in reviewing design information and identifying potential cost implications.
• Contribute to value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
• Support cost analysis and market research activities.
• Prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities, and procurement packages.
• Assist with tender administration, evaluations, and commercial assessments.
• Review contractor and supplier quotations for completeness and compliance.
• Support procurement activities and contract award recommendations.
• Maintain procurement records and tender documentation.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
• Support change management processes, including cost movements.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial updates.
• Review interim payments and assist in valuation processes.
• Support final accounts and project close-out activities.
• Assist with post-contract cost management and cost reporting.
• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and commercial reviews.
