Job summary

Full Potential Solutions (FPS) is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and deliver timely financial insights for decision-making.

The role partners with the Controller and cross-functional teams to strengthen internal controls, supervise staff, and support audits, budgeting, and forecasting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required.
  • 5–8+ years progressive accounting experience.
  • 2–4+ years supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP (or IFRS where applicable).
  • Experience with financial statement preparation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday Financials, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the company's general accounting operations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable accounting standards.
  • Support consolidation of financial statements across multiple business units or entities.
  • Analyze financial results and explain variances.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate audit requests and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Support tax compliance activities and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure timely reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
  • Monitor cash flow reporting and assist with treasury-related activities.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes.
  • Improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and document accounting procedures.
  • Assist with ERP implementations and financial system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, HR, and executive leadership.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
  • Participate in special projects and company initiatives.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Controller to support the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will assist in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, improving financial processes, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller, Finance leadership, and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial records and deliver timely financial insights that support business decision-making.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Duties andResponsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Assist in managing the company's general accounting operations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
