Job summary

TRP, INC. is seeking an Engineering professional in Laguna, Philippines to plan, develop, validate and continuously improve assembly processes in line with IATF 16949. You will support mass production and new model development, ensuring quality, safety, takt time, and cost targets.

You will lead APQP activities, create process maps and line layouts, perform time/motion studies, and develop QCPCs and FMEA to optimize production efficiency. Proficiency with CAD tools and PLCs is preferred.

• Analyze Process Performance Index (Ppk) data for process capability
• Support Pokayoke, Kaizen and line-improvement initiatives
• Ensure equipment is available and maintained for production runs

About the role

Under the direct supervision of a Junior Supervisor, is responsible for planning, developing, validating and continuously improving assembly process to ensure compliance to quality standards, safety regulations, takt time requirements and cost targets.

The role supports mass production and new model development in line with the IATF 16949 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Part of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new assembly models, construct design reviews and securing top management approval of line concepts.

• Develop and maintain Process Flow Charts and Line Layouts to define clear, step-by-step assembly procedures based on engineering drawings.

• Prepare Process Examination Sheets to establish cycle times and allocate manpower efficiently per production line according to capacity requirements.

• Conduct time and motion studies to analyze workflow, establish Standard Man-Hours, and optimize labor allocation for efficient and balanced production lines.

• Create and maintain Kozaku-zu (Work Process Sheets), ensuring all critical drawing requirements and process details are properly incorporated

• Establish and maintain Quality Control Process Charts (QCPC) and/or Control Plan to monitor product and process characteristics, define measurement methods, and implement corrective action plans for deviations

• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential equipment or process failures in assembly operations

• Analyze Process Performance Index (Ppk) data to evaluate process capability

• Support mistake-proofing (Pokayoke), Kaizen, structural improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and other line improvement activities

• Ensure all equipment is available, properly maintained, and in good running condition for production activities, including new model training, trial runs, and events

About you

• Engineering Graduate (ECE, EE, ME, IE, CoE) or any related courses

• At least 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing set-up

• Preferably with basic knowledge in PLC Programming (KEYENCE, Mitsubishi), AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks
