Job summary

LMF Group of Companies in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, Philippines is seeking a Mid-Level Android Developer to design, build, and maintain native Android applications. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality mobile experiences.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of native Android experience, strong Kotlin and Java skills, and hands-on experience with MVVM/MVI, REST APIs, and modern Jetpack libraries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in native Android development.
• High proficiency in Kotlin and solid command of Java.
• Deep understanding of the Android SDK, modern Android Jetpack libraries, and handling fragmentation across various Android versions and screen sizes.
• Strong familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking libraries (e.g., Retrofit, OkHttp).
• Solid grasp of MVVM and/or MVI architecture patterns and the full mobile app lifecycle.
• Proficient with Git and dependency injection (e.g., Hilt, Dagger).
• Bonus: experience with video streaming protocols (HLS/DASH) and media players (ExoPlayer) and real-time data streaming.

JOB FUNCTION

Mid-Level Android Developer, you will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining our native Android applications. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and robust mobile experiences for our users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Feature Development & Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain high- performance, reusable, and reliable native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend teams to define, scope, and ship intuitive new features.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor, profile, and optimize application performance, responsiveness, and memory usage to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Code Quality & Debugging: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
• Proactively identify, debug, and resolve technical bottlenecks and crash reports.
• Tech Evolution: Stay up-to-date with the latest Android SDK trends, Jetpack components, and industry best practices to continuously improve our development workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Tools & Libraries: Proficient with Git for version control and experienced with popular third-party libraries and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Hilt, Dagger).
• Bonus: Direct experience with video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), media players (ExoPlayer/Media3), and handling real-time data streaming is highly valued.
