Job summary

College Decoded is seeking an Architect to design final construction plans, prepare scale drawings, and produce detailed specifications. You will use CAD tools to translate client needs into buildable concepts while managing cost and schedule estimates.

Engagement with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements, licensure pathways, and project documentation is essential. Office-based with site visits and occasional remote work depending on project stage.

Qualifications

• Must hold professional degree in architecture and be NAAB-accredited.
• Experience with AXП? Architectural Experience Program (AXP) recommended.
• Licensure via ARE with required exam and registration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop final construction plans that include aesthetic representations of the structure or details for its construction

Education and Experience Requirements

Architects must complete a professional degree from an accredited program approved by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). High school students should seek five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) programs designed for direct entry into the field. Alternatively, students may complete a four-year pre‑professional degree followed by a two-year Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program.

During and after education, a candidate must complete the Architectural Experience Program (AXP), which involves thousands of hours of supervised practice under a licensed architect. Typical experience requirements are over two years of industry experience, up to about four years for advanced positions.

To become licensed, candidates must pass the multi‑division Architectural Registration Examination (ARE). Registration includes an annual fee ranging from $4,834 to $14,503 per year.
