Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Revit Draftsperson to support residential construction projects across Victoria, Australia. The role focuses on producing detailed architectural documentation and BIM models for new homes and small multi-res developments, ensuring NCC and ResCode compliance.

The ideal candidate will collaborate remotely with designers and builders, maintain project templates, and uphold drafting standards to deliver construction-ready drawings on schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in architectural drafting within the Australian residential construction industry.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, particularly architectural drafting, BIM modelling, and construction documentation.
• Working knowledge of ResCode, NCC, Australian Standards, and typical Australian residential construction methods.
• Experience preparing detailed residential construction drawings and documentation.
• Ability to interpret architectural design briefs, tender documents, variation requests, engineering drawings, and builder mark-ups.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify technical discrepancies and potential compliance issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Australian-based teams.

Responsibilities

• Residential drafting: Prepare detailed architectural drawings, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, electrical layouts, slab plans, internal details, shadow diagrams, overlooking diagrams, and construction documentation.
• Revit modelling: Develop and maintain accurate BIM models, custom families, and project templates in accordance with established drafting standards.
• Compliance documentation: Ensure drawings comply with the NCC, relevant Australian Standards, ResCode, and applicable Victorian local council requirements.
• Design coordination: Collaborate with designers and builders to review drawings, incorporate revisions, interpret technical requirements, and resolve design or construction-related issues.
• Technical review: Identify and flag potential construction discrepancies, design conflicts, and compliance issues before documentation is finalized.
• Quality assurance: Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and constructability while following established client procedures, drafting standards, and quality checklists.
• Project management: Manage multiple drafting tasks, maintain organized project files, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively within a remote working environment.

About the Role
