Responsibilities

About the role

We are looking for an Apigee Edge Engineer responsible for the development, maintenance, operations, and technical support of the Apigee Edge cloud platform. The role will work closely with engineering, support, and cloud teams to ensure the reliability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of the API management platform. The successful candidate will have strong experience in Apigee, API Gateway management, RESTful APIs, JavaScript/Node.js, cloud platforms, and CI/CD practices, with the ability to troubleshoot complex platform and customer issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide software design, development, and engineering services for the Apigee Edge platform

• Develop and maintain platform patches, bug fixes, enhancements, and new features as required

• Triage, prioritize, investigate, and resolve platform bugs, customer issues, and feature requests

• Troubleshoot Apigee services and platform-related issues in coordination with the Google Global Support Center and other technical teams

• Respond to product-related technical queries from internal engineering and support teams

• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve platform stability, maintainability, and performance

• Provide software engineering support and maintenance for the Apigee Edge cloud platform

• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and capacity

• Investigate and resolve platform incidents, service degradation, and operational issues

• Provide L2 engineering support for Apigee Edge data and platform components

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field

• Strong hands-on experience with Apigee Edge and API Gateway management

• Experience designing, developing, deploying, and troubleshooting APIs using Apigee

• Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and RESTful API design

• Strong understanding of API security, authentication, authorization, and access control mechanisms

• Experience with CI/CD and source control tools, such as Git, Jenkins, and Maven

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud platforms

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Experience working with production environments and handling technical incidents

• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, infrastructure, operations, and support teams
